Conrad T. Odom,
Chair: Monitors threats to the attorney
/ client privilege and the work product doctrine
and advises the Association on methods to preserve
them. |

Chair: Responsible for reviewing the current
means and systems of post-admission legal education
in Arkansas and promoting the CLE programs of
the Association. |

Advisory Board for the Arkansas Lawyer
Gordon S. Rather,
Jr., Chair: Responsible for planning and
evaluating The Arkansas Lawyer, including the
selection of authors for desired articles. |

Chair: Responsible for review and update
of the Association practice handbooks. |

Chair: Responsible for assisting the President
in establishing the Association’s annual budget,
monitoring spending, setting guidelines for
officer expenditures, establishing check signature
and bonding requirements and reviewing the report
of the Association’s auditor. An Investment
sub-committee is responsible for reviewing and
recommending changes in the investment policies
for Association funds. |

Win A. Trafford,
Chair: Reviews and recommends group insurance
programs available to Association members. |

Chair: Responsible for overseeing the use
of space at the Arkansas Bar Center. |

the development and improvement of the Association's
Technology Infrastructure. |

John F. Stroud,
Jr., Chair: Maintains and improves relations
between the Association and the Arkansas Judicial
Council. In accordance with the Judicial Council's
Constitution, the Committee consists of the
Association's President and five members appointed
by the President. |

Robert F. Thompson,
III, Chair: Provides an evaluation of the
qualifications of prospective appointees to
judicial vacancies at the request of the Governor
and maintains and furnishes to the Governor
a broad-based current list of attorneys suggested
for appointment as Special Justices on the Supreme
Court and the Court of Appeals. |

Chair: Responsible for studying and reporting
on reforms of substantive law, improvements
in law practice and the administration of the
courts, and responsible for reviewing proposed
legislation for inclusion in the Association's
legislative package and making recommendations
to the House of Delegates. |

Mark W. Hodge,
Chair: Promotes the practical understanding
of, and respect for, the law throughout the
state through the development coordination and
implementation of quality civics and legal education
materials and programs. |

Richard L. Ramsay,
Chair: Works with the University of Arkansas
School of Law and UALR William H. Bowen School
of Law in improving and securing funding for
legal education, keeps abreast of law school
concerns, may act as an independent voice for
the law schools with the University administration,
and serves as a Board-of-Visitors at the law
schools. |

Sam E. Gibson,
Chair: Assists the Association in providing
legal services specific to the needs of veterans
of the United States Military as well as active
and reserve personnel and their families. |
Lawyers
Helping Lawyers Committee
Alice F. Lightle,
Chair: Works to maintain and improve efforts
to provide assistance and support to lawyers
seeking ways to overcome stress-related problems. |

Paul T. Bennett,
Chair: Determines and makes recommendations
for ways the Association can help meet the literacy
need in Arkansas and promotes the "Lawyers
for Literacy" program. |
Legal
Services Committee (Civil)
William A. Waddell,
Jr. , Chair: Works to improve the availability
of civil legal services to low-income persons
and works closely with public and private agencies
interested in this objective. |

John A. (Jack)
Davis, III , Chair: Supports the Association's
lobbyist in promoting the enactment of bills
included in the legislative package and acts
to support the Association's position on legislation
affecting law practice in Arkansas. The committee
also considers and decides the Association's
position when the House of Delegates has not
taken a position on legislation under consideration
or expected to be under consideration by the
United States Congress or the Arkansas Legislature
or its interim committees or on proposed initiated
acts that have been proposed by other parties. |

Chair: Recommends needed changes in the
Association's legislative advocacy program and
the general legislative process in Arkansas. |
